What a year!!!!
In July we turned two years old, but we'll be honest, we forgot about it! It was silly season for us but we are so grateful to all our members and everyone who visited us this year and last. Your support and love is amazing.
Here's some of our highlights.
Creative women unite
We were honoured to be nominated in the Chwarae Teg 'Womenspire' Awards in the creative category and celebrated with other finalists in Wales Millennium Centre. Sadly we didn't win but there were so many inspiring women and we were chuffed just to be there.
Together and Sunspell
Julia and Sarah met with Irina and Silviu who run Together & Sunspell, a collection of stories portraying artists, makers and entrepreneurs living and working in their area. We were honoured to be part of the interview and photography experience and loved to be featured alongside some amazing creatives.
Art and Exhibitions
This year we hosted four local artists in our space and displayed some magnificent work. Large scale abstract oil paintings from Aidan Myers's 'Labyrinth', footballs and drawings from Kieron Lyons 'Open Hinge', and Martin Briggs 'On the way' a collection of paintings.
We were also delighted to host Manumit's Sack Slavery exhibition for Anti Slavery Day. Artists used coffee sacks to create art that represented 'Freedom'. Manumit offers dignity and hope to survivors of modern slavery through training and employment and roast their own coffee.
Co founder Jules gave birth to Esme who is our director of Giggles, she's firm but fair and we love her.
The Monday Club x TSS
We joined forces with TMC to deliver a swap shop event that featured an amazing catwalk from ethical fashion designer 'Alethea Design' Jayne Barne and a hack table for people to get their swapped clothes restyled and altered.
