Co founders Julia and Sarah spoke at October’s Creative Mornings event, with the theme 'Pioneer'.
They discussed their journey from growing up with pioneer role model parents, their many jobs (Julia can make balloon animals - amazing), living abroad and how they first set up their own ethical brand.
In 2016 they grabbed opportunity to create The Sustainable Studio, a creative co-working space in Cardiff, against the odds, and renovated the former munitions factory in to a space that supports, encourages and develops relationships, partnerships and creative practice. The space was also created to develop the local Butetown and Grangetown community where Julia and Sarah have worked and lived.
As pioneers, their advice was to 'take risks, push boundaries and don't be afraid to fail' - wise words indeed.
The space now supports 41 members who are in pods, office space on four different levels of the building.
We'd like to thank Melin and the Creative Mornings's team for their support and the amazing Turkish breakfast from Cardiff Food Centre on Dumballs Road.
Thank you also to each and every person who has supported us on our journey so far, it means the earth.
We're also excited to say we are hosting November's Creative Mornings event - we can't wait and tickets available on 20th.
Want to join our community? Pod spaces available on our first floor and we have an open day on Wednesday, November 15th 1pm and 6pm.
