We were invited to deliver workshops to IKEA staff on how they can also deliver similar workshops in the communuty. We were delighted that IKEA recognised our skills and experience of running up-cycling, ethical community workshops and the partnerships we have formed with ethical brands such as Love Your Clothes.

The two day workshops were focused on delivering skills such as basic sewing, practical running of workshops, inspiring creativity and building confidence to run their own community workshops.

The IKEA staff were from the visual merchandise, customer service and interior design departments and will deliver sustainability workshops as part of a pilot project in Cardiff, reusing bargain bin and textile waste.

Sarah and Julia said, "It was good to work with a big company that is an internationally recognised company like IKEA as they want to engage with the local community and focus on sustainability. It's good to build skills with people and businesses and help to empower staff".

Feedback included:

"Lovely people, lots of great advice"

"Fun workshops, very creative and chilled out, feel confident now about delivering our own"

"Really useful information and advice for running workshops, thank you"

The Sustainable Studio have also run sustainable workshops with John Lewis, WRAP Cymru, Green City Events, Wales Millennium Centre and others.
